Good Beginnings Executive Director Gretchen Elias will talk about the grassroots organization’s free services to support families with newborns, how they partner with other organizations and the community, and the importance of perinatal mental health in the fourth trimester in general for child and family well being.

Gretchen joined Good Beginnings in 2016 as Executive Director after 12 years at the Institute for Sustainable Communities, a Montpelier-based international organization where she designed and managed programs to build the advocacy and organizational capacity of nonprofits in Macedonia, Serbia, and Kosovo. No stranger to Vermont’s nonprofit community, Gretchen has worked at the Committee on Temporary Shelter and the Maternal Child Health Division of the VNA as well as served on the board of the People’s Health and Wellness Clinic. She lives in Montpelier with her husband and two daughters and enjoys Nordic skiing, camping, and hiking.
